I KNEW IT!
YOU’RE the artist
YOU ARE AN ARTIST - A CREATOR OF dramatic & SHOW STOPPing FLORAL DESIGNS. IT’S CLEAR THAT WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING A STATEMENT, YOU’RE THE only ONE TO CALL. WHAT SETS YOUR WORK APART FROM EVERYONE ELSE? YOU UNDERSTAND THAT DESIGN CAN EVOKE A WHOLE MOOD AND KNOW HOW TO CREATE EXCEPTIONAL MOMENTS AND MEMORIES THAT LAST A LIFE TIME THROUGH YOUR WORK. YOUR SIGNATURE? YOU CAN DREAM BIGGER THAN ANYONE ELSE AND THEN BRING THAT VISION TO LIFE WITH A SENSE OF YOUR ARTISTRY AND PASSION - YOU DELIVER THE UNFORGETTABLE.
Living life to the fullest (in all areas) is the desire of every Artist out there. Problem is, well, there’s no rulebook that tells you how to do that. Instead, you’re caught in the middle of a confusing marketplace you don’t quite know how to navigate yet and the only options seem to be up or down. You want to reach for the stars and show the world exactly what you can do, but your visions require big budgets and you don’t know where to find those high spend clients. Your big showcase *opportunities* are a wolf in sheep’s clothing – you can design for that fabulous event but entirely at your expense. You should be grateful for the platform and think of the fabulous social media content darling - right?
. *insert eye roll *
People tell you that your designs are impressive, extravagant and ambitious but you worry they’re too much and question “Who am I to create such a thing?” You worry you might have to dull down your visions and dream smaller to become more commercial and accessible to clients. You fear making yourself smaller will drain you of your passion and instead long for the opportunities to make a powerful statement with your work. You know the events & installations market could be your creative…and profitable playground. You’ve experienced or observed exceptional event experiences and know you could deliver even better. You know there are clients out there with the budgets and desire for something wonderful that you could create for them - but you don’t know how to make yourself seen or get your foot in the door. You’ve seen colleagues become known for their own flair and not compromise on their visions in the name of being commercial - but you can’t figure out how they’re not having to give in and why you aren’t getting those opportunities too.
This identity crisis and making yourself smaller, well, it gets in the way of you unleashing your exceptional, creative vision onto the World. You have the vision and power to create exceptional moments that mean the World to people and with that ability you deserve the World to deliver exceptional moments right back to you too – Moments you can design in, be seen in and be paid in. Heck you’re creating moments that last a life time so let’s get you a career that does the same too!
Let’s fix that now.
Hey there! I’m Joseph Massie.
Before we go any further, let me introduce myself. I'm the creative entrepreneur behind Flower Class, a revolutionary online learning platform for floral designers. I am also an artist, digital creator, podcaster, author and five time RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medalist. You might know me from my #1 Best Seller book, The Flower School or my, quite frankly hilarious podcast, Flowers After Hours. However you have ended up here, if you dream of a fulfilling life full of your passions you are in the right place!
I turned £0 .00 and a passion for floral design into a 7-figure company, using designs, techniques and strategies that I now get to share with the world. Spoiler : I followed my passion, and it led me to build a business, and a life that I love.
Today, I get to teach you how to do it too.
With your creative vision and THAT desire to create a lasting impression, you’re the perfect fit for the events and installations market - which is an area of the floral market that can pay extremely well for florists too. New florists can generally book events in the £1000-£2000 range, with a profit margin of around 30% - 40%.
With a little more experience, you can book events that are £3000 - £7000, and can command a higher profit margin of 35%-45%, and with more experience - well, really the sky is the limit. Based on the Society of American Florists’ data from 2020, the average retail flower shop’s total annual turnover is £350,000 / $362,318, but with your skills, you can aim significantly higher, as budgets for wedding florals tend to be a whole lot juicier than the average flower sale.
Let’s be clear - with your archetype, there is huge potential for creating significant wealth THROUGH DESIGNING SHOW-STOPPING EVENTS - you just need to know how to get there.
When you're ready, I'd love to show you how to make these changes, through my education platform - Flower Class. In the meantime, I’ve some free resources I’d love you to check out.
