The Gathered Buttonhole : A Flower Class Membership Preview
Happy Thursday!
Join me as we delve into creating The Gathered Buttonhole : A Flower Class Membership Preview.
In this tutorial, I’ll be giving you a glimpse behind the scenes of my Flower Class membership and sharing a preview of one of our exclusive membership tutorials. This class walks us through The Gathered Buttonhole.
Who’s up for a history lesson?
The classic buttonhole has its traditions firmly planted in Ancient Greece, where grooms would wear a gathered bunch of fresh herbs and flowers close to the heart to ward off the evil spirits who could try and and turn the man away from his bride.
My design here is a little more contemporary than those of Ancient Greece but my guess is that the techniques used are pretty similar.
In this tutorial we’ll be covering:
How to prepare the fresh seasonal materials
Insights into the sustainable mechanics for the design
Aftercare tips to get the best out of your materials
Method and techniques for creating a gathered buttonhole
The gathered buttonholes for the groom, groomsmen, fathers or grandfathers are so totally versatile, perfect when you choose the boldest bloom from the bride’s bouquet and pair with a beautiful textured foliage to compliment.
You can check out the tutorial right here, for free, on our Youtube Channel and if your creative spark is ignited and you’d like to learn the full technique, extra tips and flower recipe, you can discover the full tutorial along with 140+ others inside our Flower Class membership:
