A project almost two years in the making, and a personal goal for considerably longer, I am delighted to share with you now that my debut book The Flower School is being published this May!
This is the book that I wish I had when I began my floral design journey aged just fourteen years old. This book isn’t simply a collection of ‘How To’s, for me, the entire essence of teaching and sharing knowledge is to empower others and with this in mind it was essential for me to include chapters on supporting design theory, principles and elements. I experience such pleasure in the art of creating and want owners of The Flower School to have the confidence to trust in and cultivate their own creative process too. For these reasons, the first four chapters absolutely had to be dedicated to the essential underpinning design knowledge that is intrinsic to every floral design. Together we walk through the fundamentals of floral design – covering setting up your space, tools and materials, conditioning and care of flowers, the principles and elements of floral design, colour theory, the golden ratio, and more.
I am so proud to be releasing The Flower School into the world this May.
It is an outpouring of the things I have learned on my own floral journey and I hope that it enables you to experience a pleasure with flowers too, an experience to cherish, explore and delight in.
